Event Testimonials

Fairhill Shopping Centre were host to a number of innovative events in 2018 including our Story Book Wall and Children’s Abseil in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Our core business value is to give something back to the local community and this is exactly what we did! Check out some of the testimonials for our events below:

Story Book Wall 2018

“We are always looking for different ways to enable our pupils to showcase their talents and to give them opportunities to achieve success and were delighted that so many of our pupils entered the Fairhill Story Wall competition.  Many of the children enjoyed seeing their work displayed in the shopping centre during the event.  The competition was clearly a resounding success in the local area as so many entries were received from a wide range of schools.  One of our pupils was successful in his age category and this gave both he and the school a tremendous sense of pride.  It is lovely to see Children’s art, in fact local children’s art, being displayed in the centre and the vouchers were a generous addition which enabled the pupil and school to mark his achievement. Thank you very much to all who organised this and we would definitely encourage others to enter in future years.” – Jamie Harris, Principal Portglenone, P.S.

“We were delighted to have the opportunity to take part in the Fairhill Shopping Wall competition as there are very few competitions that have a dedicated category for children with Special Educational Needs. The competition theme was challenging for our pupils but they really enjoyed drawing their pictures and as it encouraged them to think about the books they loved it was a great way for us to talk about the importance of reading too. Some of the children visited Fairhill to see their pictures on display which they were very proud of.  Many thanks to Fairhill for organising such a great competition – we hope to be involved again next year!” – Leeann Armstrong, Hill Croft School

Children’s Abseil in aid of Macmillan Cancer

“The abseil has taught my daughter the importance of raising money for charity and at 7 years of age I thought the children’s abseil was a fun way to get involved. Thanks to Fairhill for organising such a unique event”

“What an amazing way to get children involved! My two children absolutely loved the experience, it’s not something you see everyday! A great way to introduce children to raising money for charity. Thanks to all involved at Fairhill, hope it returns next year.”

“The kids enjoyed the experience, they have never had the opportunity to do something like this before and the fact they got to raise money for charity is amazing. My younger children enjoyed the activities inside whilst the older ones did their abseil.”

We also sponsored the Road Safety NI poster competition:

“Fairhill Shopping centre were extremely helpful when we approached them about helping with our Road Safety Poster competition. They were very generous in offering a voucher for each pupil, whilst they provided space on the Mall to feature the winning posters. This really helped encourage entries from local schools whilst the road safety messages were seen by a wide audience during road safety week. We could not have ran the competition without Fairhill’s support.” – Tony McKeown, Road Safety NI
